What is "NEXT"?

NEXT is a three-year campaign to develop ministries that will create sustainable life change for years to come: planting churches, training leaders, strengthening families, caring for our community, and sending the Gospel farther than ever before.

NEXT is about trusting God, stepping forward together, and preparing our church to fulfill its part in the Great Commission for generations to come.

For nearly three decades, this campus has been a lighthouse—guiding people to the hope of Jesus. What began as a bold vision to plant a church in Naples is now expanding far beyond us, as God continues to write a story only He could author. God has placed us here, at this time, with these resources—not for our comfort, but for His glory.

For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”

Acts 2:39

One Vision. Five Streams. Faith in Motion.

The NEXT Campaign is organized into Five Streams that work together to propel us to God’s NEXT. Each stream reflects a different expression of the same calling:

Here are a few key resources to help you stay informed about Next and how you can be a part of this journey.

OUR RESPONSE

OUR RESPONSE

Next is not about funding projects. It is about fueling a unified vision - multiplying disciples, leaders, churches, care, education and long-term ministry impact for generations to come. We are saying, “Lord, we believe You are who You say You are, and we want our lives to reflect that.

Commitment Season

Goal $50 Million pledged to NEXT

Our response to NEXT takes place over a season, not a single Sunday. God is calling us forward in faith, and commitments help us respond together with clarity and unity. They allow us to plan wisely and steward well what He has entrusted to us, so the vision He is unfolding can move forward with purpose. By setting aside the month of March, we create space to pray, listen, involve our families, and discern how God is leading each of us to take our next step in obedience.

Seek God First

Ask Him to lead your decision. Ask Him to show you what step of faith He wants you to take. God always honors a heart that is willing to trust and obey.

Consider what sacrifice looks like for your season

For some, sacrifice may involve adjusting priorities or giving up something meaningful. For others, it may look like trusting God in a way you never have before. Sacrifice will look different for each family.

Look Beyond your regular giving

NEXT is above and beyond our normal giving, so the question becomes: What step of additional generosity is God asking me to take over the next three years? This may include income, savings, assets, or creative ways God provides.

Decide with faith, not fear

God never calls us to give out of guilt, pressure, or comparison, only trust. He calls us to give from a place of trust—believing that where He guides, He provides, and that He can do exceedingly more than we ask or imagine.

FAQs

The NEXT campaign is about positioning our church to pursue the vision and advance the Gospel by investing in five areas of multiplication, mission, and ministry health that will propel us to God’s NEXT.

Next is a three-year initiative beginning on Commitment Sunday, March 1, 2026. Gifts may be given at any time during this three-year period.

The NEXT Campaign is organized into Five Streams that work together to propel us to God’s NEXT. Each stream reflects a different expression of the same calling: to glorify God by helping people love Jesus and live for Him every day.

 1. NEXT CHURCHES: Planting 1,000 healthy, gospel-preaching churches worldwide.
 2. NEXT LEADERS: Building a strong church residency program to develop future leaders.
 3. NEXT HEALING: Launching a Biblical Christian Counseling Center to serve our church and community.
 4. NEXT EXCELLENCE: Strengthening our Academy with exceptional faculty, academic excellence, and full biblical worldview integration.
 5. NEXT HOME: Becoming a debt-free church with the best facilities that maximize ministry and mission effectiveness.

Timelines will align with the strength of the total amount pledged on Commitment Sunday.

Each stream has an allocated amount of funding and will begin in order of prioritization as that funding becomes available.

If we exceed the goal:

We give God the glory—and the movement accelerates. More church plants. More leaders trained. More families reached. More healing offered. More ministry momentum.

Pastor Alan says: "If we plant 1,000 churches then guess what, we’ll plant 1,000 more."

God often provides beyond what we expect so the mission can move further and faster.

If we do not meet the goal:

We still move forward—faithfully and wisely. NEXT is not a finish line; it is a pathway of movement into what God is calling us to do. Even if we move slower than hoped, we continue moving—because the vision doesn’t depend on a number; it depends on God.

As Pastor Alan says: “We trust God with the vision, we take the steps He sets before us, and we believe He will provide exactly what we need.”

NEXT is about being in motion toward God’s calling, not hitting a financial benchmark.

If you can’t give much, you are not on the outside of this vision.

NEXT is not about the size of anyone’s gift—it is about the size of our faith and our willingness to trust God with whatever He places in our hands.

God looks at the heart, not the amount. For some, a small gift requires more faith than a large gift requires of someone else. What honors God is obedience—listening to His leading and taking the step He asks you to take.

Some people may be in a season where they can give sacrificially. Others may be in a season where even a little feels like a lot. Both are equally meaningful when offered in faith.

Yes. NEXT is a faith journey, not a contract. Over three years, life changes—jobs, health, family, and seasons all shift.

Pastor Alan says often: “We walk by faith, not fear.”

A journey with God includes changes in pace and changes in circumstance. If life shifts, you can adjust your commitment. What matters is that you’re taking the next step God asks of you.

NEXT is not about perfection—it’s about movement, obedience, and trusting God step by step.

Yes. Your commitment is completely confidential. Only the small team responsible for recording commitments will see your information. Pastors and ministry leaders do not view individual gifts.

But while your commitment is private, the movement it fuels is shared.

Each person’s step of faith becomes part of the collective momentum God is building in our church as we move forward into His vision.

God sees the heart behind every commitment—and He uses that obedience to advance the mission from our neighbors to the nations.

During the NEXT journey, there are two ways our church family will give.

Your regular giving supports the ministry of today. Your NEXT giving fuels the movement of tomorrow.

So while our church continues to operate with a ministry budget, your gift to NEXT goes into one unified fund that moves all five streams forward together.

If God places a particular stream on your heart, that’s wonderful—pray for it, serve in it, and celebrate what God is doing there. But financially, NEXT remains one fund, so our entire church moves forward in unity and purpose.o edit your text

No. Giving to Next is above and beyond regular tithes and offerings, which support the ongoing ministry of First Naples Church.

NEXT will not affect our ministry budget, which will continue to be funded through tithes and offerings

Each household prayerfully asks God what they should give over the next three years. Commitments can be fulfilled weekly, monthly, annually, or in any rhythm that fits your financial plan.

March 1, 2026, is Commitment Sunday. On this day, we are asking our church family to bring our 3-year pledge commitment with a goal of $50 million.

No. While facility needs may be addressed where necessary, the focus is discipleship, care, leadership development, and gospel impact.

Do buildings play a role? Only where they support the mission. A counseling center needs space. Leadership development requires rooms to train and equip. The academy needs classrooms and facilities to shape young disciples. Our church needs a well-stewarded campus so we can send people out with strength.

But buildings are not the point. The point is people. People being saved, discipled, equipped, healed, trained, and sent. Buildings are simply tools. The mission is what matters.

One of the most important things to understand is this: First Baptist Academy is a ministry of First Naples. It is not separate from our church—it is an extension of our mission.

When the church invests in FBA, it invests in children and students who are being equipped to follow Jesus, serve others, and impact the world. That is part of the mission of the church—not an add-on.

Many FBA families may give to the academy because they see firsthand the impact it has on their children. NEXT strengthens and expands that impact.

It also strengthens the academy, which is one of the most strategic disciple-making environments God has entrusted to us. Even if you don’t have children there, FBA is shaping the next generation of leaders, pastors, missionaries, teachers, parents, and world changers who will influence the church and the world for decades to come.
