This is War! | Ephesians 6:10-13

Imagine being in a real battle and not knowing you’re in one. Imagine the enemy is attacking, taking ground and inflicting pain, and you’re completely oblivious that there is even a war happening. Could this be you? 

The Bible says that every single day of your life, you are living in the middle of a war. There is a battle happening around you and inside of you that you cannot see with your physical eyes. One of the greatest advantages that our enemy has is that many Christians live as though the war isn’t even happening. We stay busy and distracted. We consume and chase things we think will make us happy. Meanwhile, the world is going to hell around us. 

We don’t recognize that there is a spiritual battle underneath what we can't see, and if you don’t know who you’re fighting or how to fight, you are going to get your butt kicked. 

Throughout Ephesians, Paul has been explaining who we are in Christ and how we are to walk in this world. He ends by teaching us how to stand firm and fight against the enemy in the victory Christ has already won for us. Paul teaches us that we must recognize the reality of the war we’re in, understand our responsibility to stand firm, and rely on the resources God has given us in Christ.
