God is Greater Than Your Heart | 1 John 3:19-24

We live in a world that is constantly feeding you two completely contradictory messages at the same time. On one side, the world says, "You’re fine. Follow your heart. Just listen to it and do whatever it tells you." The culture says your heart is trustworthy.  On the other side, the same world turns around and says, “You’re not enough. You’re not doing enough, being enough, or achieving enough.” That’s the comparison trap. That’s the voice that scrolls through everyone else’s highlight reel and whispers, “You’re falling behind.”

The question that every single person is carrying, whether you’ll admit it or not, is this: "How do I really know that I belong to God?" Not “how do I hope?” Not “how do I guess?” 

What John shows us in 1 John 3:19-24 is a journey that takes us from a condemned heart to an assured one. Your heart lies to you. It lies to you on the good days when it says you don’t need God, and it lies to you on the bad days when it says God doesn’t want you. Same heart, two different lies. But ultimately, God is greater than your heart.
